Another delivery of saplings and another day planting:
We have received some heavy days of rainfall over the past 5 days and the ground is perfect for planting. It’s not so good for transporting the saplings to all the planting areas as the roads are very wet and muddy and this means much of the inventory has to be hand carried as our trucks have difficulty gaining traction.
The foresters on the other hand love this time of year. No sooner than the saplings rest in their new homes (holes) they seem to grow several inches in a matter of days. As always, each tree is hand planted giving each member of our forestry team the satisfaction of a job well done as well as a vested interest in the trees themselves.
